Information: My early years were spent growing up in Bournemouth where I developed a love for the seaside and walking. My Father, who has since passed away, was a proprietor of a traditional Barbers shop, complete with red and white pole, to signify his trade. My younger sister and I were close in age and did many things together. When I was twelve years of age, my parents adopted a son.

On Sundays we were sent to Sunday school at the local Methodist church, where I became familiar with many of the bible stories. Like many youngsters, there were times when I thought deeply about God and what religion meant to me, and at others I simply lived for the moment. However, while at junior school I decided I wanted to teach and set my heart on achieving that goal.

God did not feature significantly in my life again until after I had gained my degree in teaching, married in the Methodist church, mentioned above, and moved to Weymouth after living in Cheshire and Somerset for about nine years. By this time I was a young mum with two boys. Through visiting a local “Mother and Toddler” group, where a group of mums were invited to think about what Christianity meant to them, I came to the conclusion that Jesus was alive! I asked him to reign in me and have never been the same since……

Since being at Thornlow Preparatory School I have taught a variety of subjects to different age groups, but have always taught Religious Education in some capacity. I have a heart for the spiritual development of all who come into contact with the school. Fostering respect and understanding each other are key objectives for all at Thornlow and ones I embrace entirely.
