Having completed a 4 year B.Ed (Hons.) degree at Rolle College in Exmouth, I consider myself fortunate to have begun my teaching career at Talbot Heath School in Bournemouth. I spent a very happy 5 years there teaching in the Junior school.
Three sons later, I decided to return to teaching, completing a refresher course and then working as a supply teacher until I was appointed to teach Year 2 and later Reception at Wool First School.
Family circumstances forced another break in my teaching career, until, while taking part in the annual Spring Into Life series of visits to local schools by church teams in 2006, I paid my first visit to Thornlow and loved the atmosphere of the school. Amazingly, two weeks later, a teaching position was advertised and the rest, as they say, is history. Having now been teaching here for nearly two years, I can honestly say what a happy family atmosphere the school has and how welcome and valued I have been made to feel. The children are a pleasure to teach, so full of interest and enthusiasm. I consider myself fortunate to be a part of this school. |
