Year 1 and 2 have made porridge, scotch pancakes and melt in the mouth Scots shortbread. All the recipes were inspired by their Geography topic which focused on the Scottish Island of Coll. Coll is home to the author, Marie Hedderwick, who wrote the Katie Morag series. The series features escapades of a little girl who lives on the fictional Isle of Struay. The author based the setting and characters on her home island of Coll. Tiny Ted visited the island during the summer holidays and came back with lots of photographs and news which he shared during Geography lessons.
