Chess is more than just a pastime - though, as pastimes go, it's one of the classiest.

Chess gives the mind a great workout. It strengthens concentration. It fortifies thinking skills. It teaches strategy and tactics.

Chess Club meets every Wednesday afternoon. It is serious fun. We compete in county competitions and internal competitions. Jamie King, 8, recently achieved first place in an Under-11 competition at Budmouth School, becoming the youngest boy in the school to win his School Colours.
