Preparing children for life's horizons

Thornlow's History

Thornlow School was founded at Thornloe in Worcestershire in 1870 and moved to Bridport before settling in Weymouth in 1912. In 1940 the Channel ports were closed and its buildings requisitioned. It re-opened in 1947 and has ever since served the people of Weymouth as its only prep school.

Thornlow is very much a part of its community - a well-known, much-loved local character with a famous love of the sea.
